No one religion has a monopoly on God... Christianity, Buddhism, and Islam are all relatively new religions. Hinduism is a hodgepodge of various belief systems.
The religion that is so old that you can't even trace out its beginning in history is the original Vedic religion of ancient India. Bhagavad-gita, spoken about 5000 years ago, contains the essence of that knowledge - and it was recently translated into Korean.
Moreover, some of the most intelligent (and talented...) expats in Korea hold it in highest regard:

Your question sounds as if you are afraid God is going to strike you with lightening bolts or something. While it is true He has gone to drastic measures to get the attention of some--St. Paul's sudden blindness for one--I have observed more often that people find what they seek. Jesus said that if you seek for the Kingdom of God you will find it. Consequently, when you seek to find fault with the Kingdom of God, you will find that, too.
In Matthew 13, Jesus tells many parables describing what the Kingdom of God is like. One speaks of a man working a field who found a treasure in the ground. Another is of a pearl merchant who was looking for the best pearl(s) and found one. Each of these men sold all he had to gain the treasure he found.
In each case the item of great value represents the Kingdom of God. One man found it by accident. The other was actively looking for it. Both recognized the great value when they saw it and did whatever they could to obtain it.
Thankfully, we need not pay any amount of money to purchase God's Kingdom. Jesus did that for us. All we have to do is what he said to do, "Follow me".
And where He may lead you is not necessarily the same path that he lead your mother. Even Peter asked Jesus what would happen to his brother John. I will paraphrase Jesus' response, "What is it to you? You let me worry about him."
As for what may happen when you translate the book--be a Berean. The Bereans were Jews to whom St. Paul preached. They studied the Hebrew Scriptures to see if what Paul said was true. |

Racetraitor, said book is not motivational but a book about helping Christians find god's purpose for their life. Make sure you know of what you speak before you open your mouth.
To the OP:Its already in korean, and yes non beleivers become belevers all the time, how do you think Christianity grows? |

Unless you are actually open to it, nothing's going to happen because of reading a book. If you find yourself agreeing with what the book says, then you agree. If you read it and think it's at best comical nonsensical crap, then you think it's crap.
The point is, reading a book is not going to change you fundamentally. If you are confident in what you belive (whatever that is) then this book, or any book, isn't really going to make a difference.

It amazes me that someone who is so enlightened is so incredibly negative towards others in their posts. It is because if people like you that I have no respect for 95% of "Christians".
I was brought up Catholic but then told that isn't Christian. Then I was told I was going to hell for watching the Simpsons. Oh, I was also going to hell because I went to church A when I should be going to church B. These were all comments made by "enlightened" people.
I just wish more of you people had a STFU filter (ie I should probably keep my mouth shut because nobody really wants to hear the dribble that I was brain washed with). Believe in something all you want, just don't think of others as dumb or less than you for not sharing said beliefs.

I'm a Christian.
I've read some of the Purpose Driven Life.
You'll find that it's basic Christianity watered down and written as a personal essay.
That's about it. |

No, I don't think that's what he's afraid of. He's thinking clearly now and he's afraid of being brainwashed. |
