| Onan made love to his brother's wife alright-- he just refused to ejaculate inside her because he didn't want her to have kids. She had been widowed by Onan's brother, and married to Onan so she could have children that could take care of her in her old age. According to Hebrew custom, the children she bore would be considered Onan's brother's, not his, and he didn't like that idea, so he used her for sex but "spilled his seed on the ground" (hence the weird interpretation leading to the term "onanism" and the prohibition against masturbation.) |

Most people view god as the benevolent grandfather in the sky. I think it's clear that god is a war gamer.

You're talking about Elijah, right? That guy did have a short fuse. I've never seen it translated as "little children" before though-- usually it's "youths." |

| I don't if I should blame God or Jesus for this. My dog ate a bag of Hershey Kisses that were hidden away for Easter. So if They didn't decide to have us celebrate the Rising of Jesus with candy and eggs then my dog would still be alive and 24 years old. The kicker was that God gave her diabetes which really didn't help at all. |
