It is because Yongsan-Gwangju and Seoul-Busan are on different train lines.
The reason why the site wouldn't show any trains is that you would have to change trains twice, and the site only allows for one transfer.
You can take any train from Gwangju to Seodaejeon Station, and then a KTX from Daejeon Station to Busan.
I don't know the distance between Seodaejeon and Daejeon stations. Maybe you could take a taxi. |

I have feeling that since you are coming from gwangju you won't end up in Nopo-dong but at the west bus station in Sasang...most buses to changwon, koje, masan and jinju come through here so i can't see how gwangju will be any different.
I'll check for you....
all buses heading along the south coast come out of this bus station..
Anyway, a taxi from here to the ferry terminal is 8000 won. A little cheaper. |

It appears that half go to nopodong and half go to sasang...
When you get on the bus ask which one you will be going to.....it will make a big difference.
Nopodong or sasang.....they are on opposite sides of the city. |

Yes, it's about a 10 min. taxi ride. |
