|

Hi Everyone,
Two days ago I found a toy poodle. She was in pretty rough shape - covered in matts and quite thin so she has been outside for awhile - it broke my heart to leave her there, especially since it has turned quite cold again and where outside her fate probably wasn't good, I brought her in with full intentions of fostering her back to health and then finding her a good home. But it turns out that my neighbour is quite upset over me having her. I don't want to create hard feelings between my neighbour and I so I would like to find her a home as soon as possible.
I've since had her groomed and took her to the vet. She had a heartworm test that came back negative but does have problems with her ears for which she being medicated for now. She's a sweet little girl about 4 years old and loves to cuddle.
I am desperate to find a place for her. If you have any questions, interested in adopting, or would be able to foster her in the meantime, please pm or email me [email protected]. I have some pictures of her that I'm trying to figure out how to post, so if you'd like to see her, I can send some through e-mail.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post,
Katherine

| It's warm again now. Put her back on the street. If she can't find garbage to eat on the street in Seoul then she's just not trying. |

| I'm sorry I can't help, but it's great that you're helping this dog. Maybe if you check the www.lonelylifetime.com site, they can help you find a home or foster home for her. |

| Checking the link that "Bramble" posted, I was sorry to learn of the recent passing away of Sommer Chambors, an expat teacher who's been actively involved in helping find homes for abandoned pets in Korea. I believe that she's posted on this forum, and I met her once at a "veggie club" picnic. Here's the specific link: http://www.lonelylifetime.com/news/korea/sad-news/#comments |

I saw that too, and it was really a shock. Definitely a big loss for the animals. |

I'm pretty sure that she's in a better place now...
Here's the obit article:
Sommer was born July 9, 1977, in Portland to David James and Cynthia Cindy (Cooper) Chambers. She was raised and educated in Boring and graduated from Barlow High School in 1995. She continued her education at Oregon State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in wildlife and fisheries management in 2002.
Sommer was an animal rights activist. After graduating from college, she traveled throughout Europe doing humanitarian and pet rescue work. She then spent two years teaching English in Prague and the Czech Republic. She spent the last six months in South Korea, where she started an animal rescue program.
Sommer volunteered at a number of animal shelters in Portland and Corvallis, volunteered with a rape and domestic violence hotline and was president of a vegetarian group when she was in college.
She enjoyed traveling.
Sommer was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother of Gresham; sisters, Danielle Chambers of Centralia, Wash., and Jodie Chambers of Reno, Nev.; and grandparents, Bert and Ray Nettleton of Reno.
Memorial contributions can be made to www.lonelylifetime.com, or to the animal shelter of ones choice.
