We put my grandmother in one. It's called a retirement home.
When I'm old, I'd rather live in one of those than in a house on my own. |

This guy has definitely been in Korea for too long. Because for all their Confucinism, kids seem prone to mock older people. Let's give them some encouragement! |

When I was young I had no patience for the elderly. I suspect this was due to my neighbor whom I disliked. But as I've aged (well, a little bit - I'm 25) I've come to hold a lot more respect for them.
I hope to be old one day. |

| well my problem really isnt against old people its against old asian people.especially old asian people in high power positions like a pricipal or politician. i cant stand how everyone has to put them on a pedastool and never question what they say, and laugh at there stupid ass old jokes. also on the subway they are so damn pushy, if there is an old person that NEEDS my seat i would gladly give it up but not just cause the person is old in the first place. and besides they have already lived for like 60 years, we will all be dead before the next 60 years is up so if anything we should get the free subway ticket! |

I found old people in Korea very kind and humorous. The elderly guard on the gate at my apartment used to make me coffee and gave me useful information about buses etc. Old ladies used to walk along the road with me and have a friendly 'chat' (I couldn'understand a word), one ancient old woman met me walking in the park, she was so concerned to see me using crutches and stopped and shared her chestnuts with me. Another old couple invited me to share the shade of a pagoda with them when I was walking the fort in Suwon.
I actually thought the old people of Korea, who after all grew up in a very different Korea, redeemed it. |

Yeah, in general, the old people here have been awesome, more friendly to me by far than any other age group except my students, and not at all pushy. It's the middle-aged Koreans (in general... there are obviously exceptions...) that I really don't get along with. |
