is it just me or does it seem that every time the korean team loses a game in any sport most korean people start making excuses and saying that its because of the referring oficals or any other crap they can make up. why is this? |

You should talk to Jose Mourhino about bad refs...I think Chelsea and Chelsea fans complain more than Koreans do. Add to that the ozzies when they lose to kiwis and certain NBA players also have refs they hate not to mention umpires and base umpires in MLB....the list is endless. |

Yes.
They still play Ohno re-runs over 5 years after the fact.
And who could forget whining that the World Cup match was stolen from them, despite failing to score a single goal? |

Sounds like you are having a bad week. Old people? Poor sports? I think you need to sit down and enjoy a cold one tonight, forget about the shitty week you've had, and enjoy life! Hope your weekend goes better than your week obviously has - or rather hasn't. |

Its not because they are poor sports, alot of them just don't normally watch soccer. During the world cup, my sisters completely irrationally think Ireland are getting screwed constantly and that we are the greatest footballing nation in the world. they when it comes to sport are idiots(how many times can u possibly explain the offside rule)and idiots invariably are the most unreasonably patriotic.
This is because they simply do not have the information to know the truth. The students I have who are most likely to concede that Korea isn't the best soccer nation in the world are the ones who watch alot of soccer. Since i knew every player in the3 major leagues in europe(thank you championship manager) I wasn't afforded the luxury of thinking Ireland was the greatest.
Long story short, the more you know about something, the less likely you are to have foolish opinions, no matter how much u ove your country. |

They don't care about the sport, just the country...
Then a loss becomes an affront...
Then a lack of support becomes an affront....
Then the players own insults to the national symbols on the field only serve to amplify the original insult....
Yeah-they're poor sports, but sport is neither here nor there to them
"88 Olympics a boxing result went against Korea. They went ballistic in the ring.
i think the world has known korean "colours" for a long time.
Yet,I work here,live here.
I've spent a good part of time here. |

How'd that work for the Swiss game then? Where they were "offside" for the second goal? Did they circle and replay and slo-mo where the Korean player touched the ball, thereby rendering the play NOT offside?
Nope. |
