1. South Park
2. That 70's Show
3. Iron Chef (the voice-overs just do it for me)

If Weeds puts together a couple more stellar seasons, it'll find its way up to #1. I'm in love with that white woman, whatever her name is. those poisonous eyes...

Anyone remember the name of that show with the girl whose dad was an alien and she could stop time and could talk to her dad through this glass ball she had in her room?

How could I have forgotten Family Ties???

Did you know that Tom Hanks had a recurring role (twice, I think...maybe 3 times) as Elise's alcoholic brother?

waltjocketty:

the show you are referring to was called "OUT OF THIS WORLD" ...
i remember watching that show as a kid ... haha ... brings back memories ... i still remember the theme music to that song:

WOULD YOU LIKE TO SWING ON A STAR (oh-oh-oh)
CARRY MOONBEAMS ... blah blah blah

something like that ... i think that show was syndicated with jerry macgwire's football player 'quosh' ... MY SECRET IDENTITY ... haha

if i remember correctly "out of this world' was directed by scott baio and the father's voice was burt reynolds ... i loved how she could freeze time with her two index fingers (?) touching ... she would touch you so you could talk to her while the world would remain frozen ... man, i used to wish i could do that as a kid ...

1) Get Smart: Best line in that was when Maxwell Smart says to one of the bad buys, 'your a cool one Herr Scar'.

The best bad guy in the series was the man of Asian extraction who had a poisonous fingernail that was called spoiler. I think Maxwell Smart said, 'you have a mosquito on your face, then the baddie scratched his own face essentially killing himself.

The cone of silence, chaos, men with patches, agents hiding in rubbish bins, also Agent 99 was hot...

That show was really the coolest of the cool.

2) Seinfeld: Ah, the Pensky file...

George's father: What kind of man comes into your house and takes your TV guide? Same episode, stalker goes to George's parents house and says to Elaine, "I made these for you Elaine" and gives her a bouquet of cut up TV guides.

3) Wonder Years: Yeah, I'm still dreaming of Winnie...

How many of us here know that Diana Rigg is the only woman to ever play 007's wife? Damn, the imagination reels at the possibilities for action/adventure inherent in such a coupling. As we know, though (In Her Majesty's Secret Service) she was assassinated by his enemies about 5 minutes after she said "I do."

Those of us who criticize gon-gon-chill for the casual way he treats his women, we need to remember what happens when a mythical-icon-superspy cares too much about anyone ...

I recall The Avengers fondly, most particularly the never-requited sexual tension and constant professional respect between Mr. Steed and the recently-widowed Mrs. Peel ... I was just going through puberty at the time, and every moment between them spoke volumes to me about how we benefit by both recognizing (and celebrating) and also ignoring what our gonads tell us, and instead pay attention to the rest of what's going on ... like knowing how to jump up and kick in a certain way that will make some Enemy of Democracy take a hit in the head and fall down really hard.

At the moment my 3 favorite tv shows :

1. Deadwood

2. 24

3. The West Wing. (I've bought them all on dvd, and I'm deep into the 3rd season. If any of you come on with a spoiler, you are dead meat. I have ways of finding out where you live.)

Smiles.

I agree. This is a fantastic show. It has certainly had some major twists. Hopefully, they can keep it good for at least one more season. Do you know when the new season is starting?
