Did you get paid on time?
Did your boss pocket deductions for medical, healthcare, and pension?
Did your boss pay your severance?
What are the working conditions at the school like?
What were the housing conditions like?
Is the school having financial difficulties? |

Did you get paid on time?
Absolutely no problems here.
Did your boss pocket deductions for medical, healthcare, and pension?
It's a government job and everything was by the book.
Did your boss pay your severance?
I received my severance 3 days after my final contract day.
What are the working conditions at the school like?
I would refer you to other postings on this website as the school supervisor is attempting to sue me for slander claiming I wrote all eslcafe.com posts regarding the school.
What were the housing conditions like?
The apartment is one of the better ones you would find in Korea.
Is the school having financial difficulties?
It is a government funded school and there are no known financial problems. |

Wow, can they actually sue you for something you wrote online about them?
In the west, 2 things have to be present for public writing to be slander:
1)The subject of the public writing has no opportunity to respond.
2)What was said isn't true.
I dont know about 2, but 1 is definitely not the case. Maybe in Korea its different, though... everyone's so hung up on losing face.

Well, they can certainly attempt to do so. The problem is that in Korea education is generally treated as a business, with huge profits on the line and partly based on reputation. Slander in Korea can be about reputation, but being that I didn't write it I'm not too worried! |
