You have a weblink to your own personal story, (complete with pics, video, and music) of your year in Korea and how special it was to you. In fact, this was quite impressive. It would make a great promo for any recruiter.
Did you recently change your mind about your experience in Korea? |

To the people who would or have talked people out of visiting South Korea, I think you're mistake.
This mistake I believe is based mostly on ignorance. An ignorance that stems from a failure to go out and see what Seoul and the rest of the country has to offer, and the fact that your personal life here isn't as good as you'd like it to be.
Am I wrong?
Stop and smell the roses guys. This place has a lot to offer. Of course it will drive you crazy, but that's part of being away from home. I'm grateful every dingle day for having the chance to live here. |

I would say yes simply due to the "mid-way" nature of Korea.
You know, midway between the "Wowie-zowie!" nature of big destinations like Tokyo, and the "OH my sweet lord! Is that guy craping in the street?! Why is my arm splotchy and itchy?!" nature of the third world destinations like India.
So, basically, something for everyone. |

My mother came to visit me 3 times while I was in Korea. She didn't really like it all that much, but she isn't very adventurous. She said she'd never visit the country if it wasn't for me.
On the other hand, my brother came to visit me one time and absolutely LOVED it. We did a side trip to thailand and while he loved it too, he was very excited to get back to korea for his last week of vacation. He said if he wasn't married, and wasn't set in his career , he would have loved to have done what I did. His purpose for coming to visit was to convince me to go back home, but while there, and having such a great time and meeting great people, he did no such thing. We still talk of the visit often and he still smiles as we reminisce.
Depends on the person I guess. If they are a take the bull by the horns type person, Id say fun is to be had. |

No, Korea holds many pleasant memories for me and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.
But with all the other places to visit on this planet I wouldn't recommend Korea for a vacation destination.
Do I need to elaborate on why? |

Well said. Lots of people love NYC. I didn't like it that much. I liked Chicago more. But in the final analysis, the growth engine of Korean tourism isn't America. It's China and Japan. Their opinions, as far as Korean tourism goes, certainly matter a lot more than ours.
I'm sure to the Chinese they find Seoul a clean, safe, well-ordered city. Asia but many decadent, forbidden, and enticing American influences. The Toronto of Asia. The Japanese see it as one massive factory outlet mall. |
