'The Secret' makes it very clear you actually have to take action when opportunities present themselves, it's not simply a matter of visualisation or thinking (though that part is important too). |
Oh well, Whew. At least it's based on a rational, bottom up approach to determining the problems in your life, the steps you need to take to solve them, and an honest assessment of the likelihood you can attain those goals and upon determining that maybe a goal is beyond your reach, finding an alternative you can find happiness in.
Mmmm hmmmm.
But really I see nothing about "action" in this "law of attraction"

On Larry King, one of the authors of this book admited that he charges $997 a person to attend his seminar.
I think this speaks volumes about the legitimacy of The Secret. |

yeah 997 for a seminar..... seriously....
I watched the secret and saw larry king live as my sister and mom were raving about it back home....
my mom kind of thinks a lot of it is crap, but my sister truly believes it, and thinks i'm not spritual enough for not believing in it... uhhhh.... right. They also went to go see one of the speakers at U of C. I think it was free or maybe cost 20 dollars. it wasn't a seminar, just a talk etc....
Okay sure I believe in what they are saying- when you think about what you want, and think positive about it, then you will get what you want.
they also said it come down to
thoughts
feelings
and actions
when you have all of those 3 things in line then of course you will be focused on your goal. Now whether it is going to actually appear or not is a different story. The secret would say that the universe entitles you to whatever you want.... but...
when some of the speakers were talking on Larry King I was rolling my eyes. Like what happens if two persidential candiates want to be president and both believe and practice the secret.... who wins?? The guy on LK jusitified by saying one wasn't meant to be president... okay... well then couldn't you say that for any want and aspiration?>so what's the point of the secret?
Also Joe Vitale- one of the speakers said of the recent murder of a Young Girl in California where there was just a convition that she' subconsciously attracted' the attack. Like are you ffing kidding me>> I couldn't believe he said that on national TV. Like what about babies who die of sids... did they attract that?.....
he also said there was going to be a secret 2 and didn't say anything else. there are ' more secrets' oooooh... I'm so exited... *gag*,... let me pay to see it now
right......
it's turning into a money grabbing phenomenon. Sure positive thoughts are good but people need a balance as to when something bad really happens you don't totally snap into negative thoughts and actions...
I don't know.... just my opinions.... |

Simply put, you can prove me wrong by providing one quote. All you gotta do. Your continued silence on this matter is rather indicative. Sorry but nothing I read on this crap indicates actions are a major component. This is self help fluff for fat asses who don't want to get off the couch and actually do something.

Is this this decade's Celestine Prophecy/10th Insight? What was his face... Redfield in the first book offered 9 "amazing" insights. And then, miraculously, right before the Christmas buying season, came out with a 10th. |

They do on Oprah, but not on the DVD (the large inconsistency between the two is indicative, in my opinion, of its illegitimacy).
On the DVD, the kid wishes for the bike, the guy in the suit imagines getting cheques instead of bills, and the bald metaphysician says 'The Secret' attracts things to you rather than saying it attracts you to them (implying the things will act differently because of your thoughts rather than you acting differently because of your thoughts).
In all three of those cases, no one does or says you have to actually do anything different besides change your thoughts.
You might argue that the other guests on the DVD say slightly different things on this topic, but that's yet another glaring inconsistency. |

| Sorry, Mashimaro. I don't buy it. Does that mean that all of the people killed in tsunamis, earthquakes, tornados and the like ASKED for them?? Were there so may "bad thoughts" around that the universe "gave" people what they wanted?? |
