how can i make this thing type Korean? the little button next to the space bar doesnt do it anymore =(
ahh so frustrating. i am a complete newb |
I can't type Korean in my dictionary either any more.
Kind of put it on the back burner though, as my main
problem is that it often won't start up at all!
(Even when the battery should be fully charged)
Works fine when the AC adapter is plugged in..
I wonder if this has anything to do with the day
I dropped it At least it was in the leather
case at the time, but it can't have been good for it. |
My guess is that they replaced the internal battery cell. It has a tendency to burn itself out if you dont use/charge properly. The cell most likely will burn out if you tend to use your V43 until the battery completely runs out. If this happens repeatedly, your machine just wont charge. |

Sounds valid.. but if anything I charged the battery too often, rather than not enough. Because it's not convenient to always carry the spare battery, I would charge up pretty often to avoid it going dead when I was out and about. Maybe that is not good for the battery either.. Anyway, whatever they did, it was free, and like I said, very good service all round. |

Lithium-ion batteries like to be re-charged often. But it seems a total discharge is useful now and then.
| Quote: |
A lithium-ion battery provides 300-500 discharge/charge cycles. The battery prefers a partial rather than a full discharge. Frequent full discharges should be avoided when possible. Instead, charge the battery more often or use a larger battery. There is no concern of memory when applying unscheduled charges.
Although lithium-ion is memory-free in terms of performance deterioration, batteries with fuel gauges exhibit what engineers refer to as "digital memory". Here is the reason: Short discharges with subsequent recharges do not provide the periodic calibration needed to synchronize the fuel gauge with the battery's state-of-charge. A deliberate full discharge and recharge every 30 charges corrects this problem. Letting the battery run down to the cut-off point in the equipment will do this. If ignored, the fuel gauge will become increasingly less accurate. |

| I have to say I also got good service at the Sinchon service center. The cord to charge my istation died, though I wasn't sure that was the problem. I was in and out in less then 15 minutes! |

Mine plays avi files perfectly. Bring it to a service center if you think there's a problem. Personally, I know very little about how the V43 works. |

I have barely touched my I-Station since I got my Nintendo DS
Watching movies or listening to MP3s on the subway is good,
but playing Mario Kart is better! |

Anybody heard about a 60gig model coming out with a dictionary built in?
Are they available now?
I haven't bought an Istation yet but probably won't until there's a 60gig model that comes out. |
