To add an assumption of a higher power seems strange to me. Complexity arouse after along time not before it. It is far more presumptuous to believe in a being that has no evidence or necessity for its existence.
Its nice to think there is some order controlling the universe but all we find are physical laws and scientific theories. Its nice to think we have a chosen special place, but we are here quite by accident.
Anyone with strong beliefs can come across as arrogant. BUT IT'

I made sure to use "higher being" and not "god" here. With the higher being thing, I am not talking about a creator or a controller, just a being higher than us (or many beings) in this universe. I also believe people who think that humans are the only intelligent life forms in this universe to be arrogant too. Come on, you don't believe in the Q Continuum???  |
