For the past few days the same group of 10 stalker middle school girls are waiting for me, like my personal paparazzi or something when I leave the school for the day. They insist on following me down the street while stealing pictures on their cell phones. Last night we were joined by a pack of aggressive middle school boys who thought it was acceptable to poke my ass. How can I curb their curiousity, which is harmless, but down right annoying as hell?? |

I don't know if you're a guy or a gal, but the first boy or girl who poked my butt would be in trouble. The girls stalking you? They'll get bored soon enough. |

Yeah, the novelty will wear off. Are they close to their school? If they start to harrass you anymore point to their school and suggest you could go talk to their homeroom teacher (dam-eam sunsaengnim) about the problem. That should sent them scattering.
As for the poking you in the bum, that is simply intolerable. Boy or girl I'd turn around and slap their hand as hard as I could. |

덩짐 (dong-chim - poking in the ass) is pretty common in Korea for kids. They just want to show their affection or love. I had a six year old girl do it to me and my wife just mentioned it was one of those things in Korea you have to put up with. If the boys were aggressive then it could be unforgivable. |

What? Affection? Love? How often do you see kids doing it to their family... or to your wife, for that matter? |

No you don't have to put up with it. No, they're not showing their affection. Do they go around ddong-chiming random Korean adult stangers? No, they don't. If they do it they are taking the piss out of you because they see you as something comical. If a middle schooler did it to me I would rip the name tag off his school blazer and be marching to the nearest middle school to ask to speak to the English teacher asap. |

What the HELL! Dongchim is okay because it's a type of affection!!! I'm an adult, they are not! They do it to their friends, not teachers! I don't want to be their friend and it's not appropriate. Whistleblower, what world are you on!? |

Finally!
Ddong chim a kind of affection? That's rich. If my wife told me that load of crap I'd ddong chim her arse into next week. I can understand Korean teachers trying to cover up for their nation's uncivilized children, but your own wife?! How dare she?
These days, if a kid ddong chims me they are inevitably going to cry. |

The moral of the story...Koreans shouldn't use English words unless they know their exact meaning and spelling.
The same with foreigners. |
