The article you linked doesn't say that he's gay. It only says that he wears purple latex gloves...are you reading between the lines?

I've been told that's a SF thing; just as it's considered impolite to refer to someone by their race (e.g. "The black man who works in . . .") to identify them, referring to someone's sexual orientation is not a necessary or polite means of identifying / describing a person.
Another article I read on this, while again never saying this Shin fellow had a sexual or romantic interest in the SF mayor, details some of the things he's done in his stalking that makes it something one can conclude. |

I just came back from San Francisco. Yes, the news gave the impression that the guy was gay, but did not say it. Of course, in SF we presume that any man stalking another man is homosexual, so it might not be true.
Mayor Newsom is a bit sleazy (if you consider the adultery and smooth talking), but he's also very popular, and will probably be re-elected. |
