Their favotite word is "really". As in the following:

Koreans are "really" genuis.
Koreans are "really" kind.
You are "really" fat.
Your nose is "really' big.
When you have the flu you "really" must still come to school.
Japanese and Americans are "really" evil.
etc

Puck You.

It seems like all my 3rd graders and up know that and use it. Can you imagine what would happen if it had been thrown around when you were in elementary school. They really don't understand the seriousness of saying it to someone.

And Let's. I freakin hate "Let's" now. I've actually tried to weed it out of my vocabulary b/c i'm so tired of hearing it.

Maybe.

All I every hear is "maybe" the sun is shining today. "Maybe" you can teach this class when the meaning is you have to teach this class. "Maybe" you can cover this class. Maybe, maybe, maybe. I listened to a Korean teacher giving a talk about dress code at a seminar and I counted 62 maybes during her 20 minute talk and only three of them "maybe" were used in the right context.

"Smog" is used to describe everything from heat haze and humidity to a snowstorm apparently. Strange, because most koreans seem to think it is a terrible scourge that is found only in London and brings traffic to a standstill there daily. This d i c k e n sian image of inner city decay is probably the only thing that keeps koreans headed for LA en masse rather than britain.

I still like the one where YBM (the major english school) had a banner that said "Let's Speaking".
