Inspired by my newfound addiction to the show Heroes. I'm torn between mind-reading and being able to jump time/space. Both can be abused for personal gain, but jumping time/space sounds like more fun. Instant regeneration is also very cool, but how can I profit off of that other than as an assassin?

So if you cold have a super power, what would it be and why? Being all-powerful doesn't count.

Hiro's power is not something I'd like to have.

If I could choose, I'd pick the latest superpower shown in the last episode, shapeshifting.

Also very cool, but when deciding which power I'd want I also considered the possibility of getting caught. With Hiro's power, you'd never get caught.

I think when it comes to not getting caught, you could rank the powers in this order.

1) Intangibility
2) Ability to walk through time and space
3) Shapeshifting
4) Invisibility

Yes, I think a shapeshifter could escape easier than an invisible person. Another one of Hiro's problems is he can't quite control the destination yet. Plus his powers fail him a lot.

I wish I had the power to #&$! with people's emotions. I could cheer up the mopey, drag down the arrogant, guilt trip the guiltless, and tweak out the snide.
I'd definitely give heavy-ass guilt trips to mindless inheritors of great wealth, and reward them with happiness if they did good stuff with their money.
It'd all have to be pretty hush-hush though, or I'd probably get shot. So as long as I'm dreaming I may as well dream in color--I'd make my superpower something I could hit anybody with, no matter where they were.
Look out, Paris Hilton and Kim Jong-Il !!! (and too many more to name.) Captain Guilt-trip, the Enforcer of Benevolence, is on to you!

Either that, or I'd also like to be invisible if I felt like it.

For devious mischief or the betterment of mankind? On a side note: is betterment a word?

edit: yes, yes it is.

Definitely time travel. Fly on the wall stuff.

you could make millions betting on the outcome of horse races for a start, then spend the rest of your time checking out what really happened in history.

The whole Spiderman package is already taken, so I would choose the ability to cause a giant, explosive diarrhea in a person at any distance by just thinking about it. Just think, you could stop any fight, any situation, and the potential for revenge is unlimited! Shocked

I'd be worried about travelling backwards in time. Your intention may be just to watch history, but you may end up creating it instead.

The power I've always dreamed of having ever since I saw Mork & Mindy as a child is stopping time. I don't care about traveling in time--just being able to stop it as I please would be enough. In class as a youngster I'd spend hours and hours daydreaming about what I'd do if I could stop time. Never have ceased wishing for that skill.. maybe one day..

Exactly! That was my dream for the longest time too! I used to think that every time I was working on an assignment last minute, which was every assignment. Other than assignments, there's a whole lot of fun you can have with that power. Looking up ladies' skirts was high on my list when I was young. I'd probably do something equally retarded if I had that power now. Oh the possibilities...

But I also worried about aging prematurely in the real timeline as well as the possibility that I might get stuck in stopped time forever. You can probably tell I gave this waaaayyy too much thought.

I'd like to be able to make money mutliply and never have to work for the other man again. I'd also like to be able to make annoying people disappear as soon as I enter a room.

We'd make a good team. The power to make money combined with the power to spend it.

I'd choose immortality with the ability to travel anywhere in space and time...(and the ability to share this gift w/a few chosen people)....

It'd be tough getting bored, even for eternity, if you could live different lives anywhere and anytime in space...

sigh...that's my dream....
