You don't like it, yet you're spending an awful lot of time arguing about.

What's next, genius?

Yeah, I don't like it either, but what's next? Hmm?

Yeah, i was just letting my inner troll out. But it's true that I call all that stuff techno. I guess it's because I'm from the south. Almost nobody listens to techno there. Maybe we're rubes, I dunno.

But let's get back to arguing. Now, for dancing, hiphop is way better than techno. Just go to a hiphop club (in America!) and check out the people dancing and then go to a techno club and watch the people...uh...doing the weird stuff they do to techno. You can barely dance to techno, it's too fast.

And furthermore, Decepticons! Which would you rather have, a truck or a gun? Lemme rephrase that. Which would you rather have, a truck or a truck-sized gun?

hiphop is more conducive to sexy dancing, true. But people are also more pretentious and preening in a hiphop club. In a techno club, or rave, people may not be dancing pretty, but nobody gives a shit. People are there for the love of the music and to have a good time.

Mylo is an Autobot, Felix is a Decepticon, and Paul Oakenfold is a Gobot.

Aphrodite is Tetsuo from 'Akira.'

Since you are from the south, I suppose it would be a hard choice between a truck and a gunas you have both already. Just go for the biggest upgrade i suppose.

For dancing I would prefer some funky house. As long as you have a bag of little white things, any house would do me though.I would say that mybe if you want to get into some different dance music, you should try Big Beat. It doesn't seem to be as popular as it was in the late 90s but some of my friends who aren't so much into House or trance or whatever really dig big beat. It has very strong vocal tracks normally. Chemical Bros and fatboy slim would be good examples. They are awesome live. Its a very organic type of dance music.

Southern hip hop kicks ass btw..loving TI, BG and the three 6 mafia. I hope all those guys are southern. sometimes my hp hop lobe in my brain misfires.

I'm listening to death ATB's Greatest Hits (from seven year span). Anyone like ATB and know of comparable music?

ATB is fantastic. He's also one of the coolest performers. At his Houston show.. he had his decks set up right on the edge of the dancefloor on the first floor. He was jumping around, high-fiving the crowd, etc. during his set. Oakenfold, a few weeks earlier, set his system on the secondfloor (which was completely restricted) and occassionally would glance down at the dancefloor to ensure that the "serfs" were still serving his Lordship.

ATB was also an extremely nice guy. Oak, with his enormous entourage was just an insecure wimp hiding behind the security. I like Oaks music, but damn if he isn't a snot!

Fabric is one of the coolest places around! The Gallery is another great venue.. I'm going there in May for the Armada event. I can't wait to visit the UK clubs again!

Of course I'm sure noone will be at these clubs since no one in Europe listens to electronic music! Wink

FabricLive (on a Friday) was my favourite place to go clubbing circa 2002-2003. Three rooms of mayhem, encompassing drum n bass, breaks and hip hop. Packed to the rafters almost every week too... However, its also responsible for my terrible short-term memory performance these days. Don't know what its like now, but back then it was awesome.

DJ Vadim this weekend anyone? I heard it was 30,000 to get in to Cargo.

In the "mainstream" of the ATB world, Ferry Corsten is a good choice. I am partial to Gabriel and Dresden. They've helped me with my own production skills, so I'm heavily influenced by them. Check out Dave Dresden's Myspace page at www.myspace.com/davedresden to hear a few of their songs. They just remixed the Killer's song "Read My Mind." It's on the page, very cool stuff. Blake Jarrell is also one of my favorites.. he's on the fast-track to be one of the next-big-things. http://www.myspace.com/blakejarrell

Of course, Solarstone is great.. Those are just some of my favorites. If you like ATB, you'll find that there is a lot of great stuff in that vein.
