I haven't been able to find much about Islam in Korea online, aside for a listing for a mosque. I was wondering if there are any Muslims on the forums here.

Thanks!

I surely hope so. But be prepared to deal with Korean racist BS. I've never met such closed minded people in my life, and i've been to many places in this world.

Why don't you just go into said Mosque after prayer and ask there?
(assuming you're in Seoul of course)

Right, I plan on going to the mosque. I'm just curious if there are others who post here as well.

Thank you for the link!

While we're at it, just wait to see what most of the Americans on this board have to say about Muslims...

How about Spanish? French? British? Thai? Indonesian? Indian?

Americans aren't the only ones with grudges against those who use Islam to further their fundamentalist agendas.

We don't have Spanish, French, Thais, Indonesians, or Indians, and I'm not aware of any British people who've spoken out about them on here.

What some people have to say here about anything other than the norm is, well, simple minded and often without any merit. But most of us have gotten used to that by now.

Anyway, my point was not to discuss Islam but to see whether there were Muslims on this forum.

Is that girl hot under the burqua? Islam sucks.

Christianity sucks. Islam sucks more.

Brain-control crap for the weak-minded.

If you need help freeing your mind from medieval superstitions, may I suggest the following website: http://www.apostatesofislam.com/index.htm

You might also find www.homa.org/ helpful, an organization to promote the rights of women and children under Islam. www.secularislam.org too might be useful, it is an institute for the secularization of Islamic society.

Remember, you're already an atheist, you just need to take non-belief one god further.

These are all very interesting websites. Thanks for posting. For some odd reason people feel the need to defend themselves or others without having the need to... Well, I agree with some who say religion is a vehicle for hatred and oppression. I agree that all religions are in a lot of ways responsible for most of the problems in this world. But, those who merely look at religion as a negative influence on society should also consider that religion and spirituality are completely different. Religion has rules and laws. Spirituality is what an individual experiences and seeks. There are Muslims who are full of hatred and are indeed blind. But, there are those who seek for something outside of what Islam is represented as. True, I may be contradicting myself since in order for one to be Muslim he must accept the Qur'an and so on for other religions...but at the same time I feel that as humans we have the power to question and to seek. Whether that makes us heretics or "true Muslims," whatever that may be. If anyone goes through life without questioning and having the ability of distinguishing good from bad and so on then of course life is not fully realized. At the same time, religion does not make man. Man makes religion. So it is up to man to do as he wishes with what he creates.

Personally, I was raised Cathlolic, in Poland! I have experienced many other religions and have done my research. Theology interests me.
Now, I said I didn't come here to discuss Islam...I'm definately not defending what people do in the name of religion. But religion needs a vehicle...
