...and I don't know why. I came into work yesterday, and a particularly exuberant Korean teacher came bounding into the staff room.
"Hi. You seem happy," I said.
"Yes! I am!" he exclaimed.
"Why?"
"No classes tomorrow. All academies have no school!"
"Why?"
He paused for a moment, deep in thought. Then he looked at me like I was stupid and said, "WHO CARES???"

Yeah, same here. I just spent most of the day sleeping at my desk. Had this weird dream where I lifted my head and another teacher was watching porn on my laptop beside me. He started talking to me but I didn't hear what he was saying because I was watching the porn. Then the dream shifted to other weirdness, but that part was pretty funny.

Not meaningless, just misplaced.

Yeah. Thursday is my weekly day off. Wednesdays are a grueling affair because I teach from 10:30 to 11:50.

Wow, public school appears to be a too easy of a place to work as compared to hagwons where you are on a fast paced schedule of going from class room to class room on a daily basis. How much classroom hours per week is typical in public school? Do you get more long weekends to go out and enjoy Korea in public school positions over hagwons? If so, what is typical? I know I am badly longing for a break as it's wearing on me after only 3 months. Heard my next 3 day weekend is at the of May! Get 5 days off at the end of July for summer break, but really longing to go out and enjoy a little of the nice Spring weather coming up in the next 2 months. Will just have to avoid those Friday night teacher parties more so as to not be hungover on Saturdays like its' been so far as to be able to go places and do other things like walking and shopping in other cities.

No work today?

Sounds like you should get out that vibrator of yours and throw yourself a party. Laughing
