Okay, CB...sounds good, but could I have that again in English? The above quotes are for 2gig in kit? Is that what they mean when they call it PC2? As you can see...I'm noooo expert... Laughing

by the price it seemed like that was 2GB on one memory module.. two 1GB modules are better and cheaper I think.. I'm sure there's someone more clever than I to clear this up

actually, I don't even know "FBD1mm" is

I believe that the ram you have in your list is a single module (sticK), capacity 2 gigs. You can buy sets of 2 sticks, capacity 1 gig each (hence 2x1 gig set). Usually 2x1 gig sets are cheaper than buying a single module of the combined capacity.

PC2 or DDR2 ram refers to the physical format of the ram... PC2/ DDR2 ram has a form factor of 240 pins, whereas standard PC/ DDR ram has a form factor of 184 pins. If you buy the wrong ram, it doesnt fit in the slots on the mobo. The mobo you have listed requires PC2/ ddr2 ram.

As far as getting a comp home from Yongson, it isn't really fun, but I've done it twice. They put the computer back into the box the case came in and fashion a handle out of tape... sounds odd, but it works. I believe that lcd monitors usually come with a handle on the box, and they aren't that heavy anyway.

To compare a couple of prices that I remember offhand, 1g sticks of pc2 6400 were $80, and the 7900gs was $160.

I'm using the Samsung PC2 5300 Ram myself. It seems pretty good. I've got 2 sticks of 1 GB each.

Isn't there a faster speed of RAM out by now? The 5300 has been out for at least a year now.

The Kingston Hyper-X line looks ok, but a lit loose on timing.

This G-Skill ram kit would probably serve you well:

or this G-Skill set with slightly tighter timings:

Sorry, just dont have the time right now to sift thru all the ram on that site... someone else will certainly have other suggestions as well.

Thinking of using this site to build a new system.

http://www.ezguide.co.kr/shop/cate_s.html?cid=1509

First site I've found in Korea that has OCZ memory. Judging from the reviews that I've read this brand seems to be pretty good.

Waiting for Intel price cuts in April so I can get the E6600.

Will be posting my specs soon. Hoping that some of the experts on the board can give me some suggestions (tell me where I screwed up). Budget around 2.3 million.

Danawa has OCZ memory in abundance. The timings are pretty slow on the OCZ; they are the same as the Kingston RAM that is avaliable in Korea. Timings aside, both would offer quality and stability.
