Some good artists who are similar to ATB:
Blank&Jones, 4 Strings, Armin Van Buuren, Scooter, Ian Van Dahl, Ferry Corsten, Sylver, Chicane, Darude, Groove Coverage, Pulsedriver, Lasgo, Fragma.
PM me if you want more. |

wait..did u just say scooter? This is ATB? That stuff with the high pitched voices. That stuff is the province of 14 year old kids and teenage discos. To each his own though.
edit: On closer inspection i do know some of these guys. I saw armand van buuren a few times, I thought he was like a trance anthem dj? Is that ATB? I can see the similarity between these people but you've really taken the most credible guys and mixed them in with some laughing stocks. I'm not a big trance fan and it is very 1998 but as I said to each his own. But really scooter!! I take it you have never had to endure a bunch of 12 year olds argue about ramenstein and scooter using their phone ringtones as proof. The worse thing is he was popular when i was that age, then he goes and releases what seems like exactly the same songs again to a new generation. |

ATB is the name of an artist. His name is Andre Tanneberger. All of the stuff you've said about "12 year olds" could even more accurately be describing the current state of so-called "alternative rock" and certainly the low IQ rumble of "booty hip-hop." Unless you're only a fan of classic jazz or vintage blues.. just about every genre of music is in the purview of 12 year olds and those stupid ringtones.
I think hip-hop is the worst offender of all, in that regard. Just watch MTV for 18 seconds and that's fact is clear. |

currently listeing to Rarioactive Man (will seed on request!) << saw him with Andrew Weatherall at Fabric in London- Wow, man they had it go'n on.. |
Fabric is one of the coolest places around! The Gallery is another great venue.. I'm going there in May for the Armada event. I can't wait to visit the UK clubs again!
Of course I'm sure noone will be at these clubs since no one in Europe listens to electronic music! |
FabricLive (on a Friday) was my favourite place to go clubbing circa 2002-2003. Three rooms of mayhem, encompassing drum n bass, breaks and hip hop. Packed to the rafters almost every week too... However, its also responsible for my terrible short-term memory performance these days. Don't know what its like now, but back then it was awesome.
DJ Vadim this weekend anyone? I heard it was 30,000 to get in to Cargo. |
Fabric became pretty lame by the time i came to korea in august last year, i had so many 'i am never coming to this club ever again' moments 2005-2006. I think at some time the atmosphere changed along with the clientelle, some nights it verged on the hostile.
HYPE HYPE HYPE
Personally I like The End.
Anyone who likes oakenfold, atb or any of that wank would probably love fabric though |

I was talking about scooter really. that guy is a complete joke. In hip hop terms he really makes Vanilla Ice look like a genius. Probably the worst DJ I've heard and he is for tennage discos. I've never heard him played at a club for example and I would assume that the DJ would be laughed out of the place if he did. Here is an example of the genius of scooter. Comparing him to armaand van buuren and the like undermines the lot of them.

edit..actually looking at that list again, its basically everything i hated about anthemic trance. That stuff is the definition of cheesy. Lets not all go back to 1998.
Booty hip hop is pretty good in my opinion as it has good beats. That is all that is important to me. |
