And you've been showing us for a long time now that you know absolutely nothing about...well...anything. Except being gay, of course, which you throw around like a badge of courage or something but, hey, each to their own. |

Bad form...
Let's leave the sexual orientation out of the discussion, please. Hack his arguments, not his person. |

Really? Strange characterization. I've been on these boards for quite a while and didn't know his/her orienation. Till now. Hmmm... wonder who it's an issue for, exactly...

Hey, the guy puts it out there, even on this here very forum.
http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?p=1094563&highlight=gay#1094563
Plus many others.
I'm not hacking his person (no thank you) so climb down off your PC pony and relax. He works his being gay into a lot of threads on this here very board. He puts it out there and shouldn't cry when someone makes a comment. There are no guarantees that you won't be offended in your life. If I were to say he is immoral, evil and totally undeserving of any human respect whatsoever, which I'm not saying, then you MIGHT have a case...but not much of one. |

| Man do you want a date? Is that what this about? Even so, stevemcgarret wouldn't know a funny comedian if it bit him in the a$$. |

Humor isnt intellectual. Funny things are, well, funny. Cynical repeptitive things may be funny at first...after a while they lose their humor.
Newsfash: thinking Maher is gunny isnt some sort of intellectual badge of honor. Wake up. |

A person who despises religion is not to be trusted and certainly not to be respected. Atheism is its own punishment, I try to remind myself. But most atheists don't realize that until it's too late to change.
Plig:
I'm not a Republican, as I've said several times on this forum. I consider myself a moderate with conservative leanings on some issues of the day. And saying you love being American without ever giving us cause to believe you is just plain disingenuous. If he feels that way, he ought to show it once in awhile. He rarely has anything good to say about America relative to other countries and I used to watch him on his earlier show.

| I think that sometimes Maher can be a funny guy. The thing is he is doing himself a disservice by being, well, a one trick pony. Its the same sort of cynicism over and over and over and over again, it becomes, well, booooooring in the end. Yes, he has his moments, but we must stress that they are just moments and that the diamonds in the rough, though sparkly and shiny and hypnotozing to the simple liberal mind, are few and far between. Dont bite my had off for saying libs' minds are simple, the fact that you dont see the rough or the poop in it that vastly outnumbers those diamonds is testament to your simplicity. The question is: dont you libs have a more worthy champion than a washed up COMEDIAN? |
I couldn't have said it better myself. And comedian Dennis Miller would eat him alive in a comic face-off.
By the way, I've seen callers get the best of Maher and he doesn't take it well at all. He can dish it out but he can't take it. |
Bill Maher is not an atheist. I think Dr. Porn already mentioned that. He hates religion, but so do a lot of theists.
Peace |

| I remember seeing politically incorrect a couple of times and not being that fond of it. Other then that, I don't think I like the guy that much. |

| Its not so much about finding Bill Maher funny as recogfnizing that Dennis Miller is so unfunny he can only get a gig doing crappy op-ed pieces on Hannity and Colmes. |

| I'd say Maher is a phoney. He gives the impression he's thick-skinned but he can't take on-air criticism to which he has no comeback. |

| Here's the thing. I don't really care about Maher's stance on issues. He's supposed to be funny. No matter what your political leanings, funny is funny. A clever person can make fun of politicians I like or of positions I hold and I can still find it pretty funny if the comedian is insightful and wry. The problem with Maher is that he never has been and never will e funny. I've seen him about 10 times and I swear that half those times he cracked wise about marriage saying that he couldn't get married beacuase one has to lie be married (I'm sure it has nothing to do with women turning him and schnozz down) because a man will always have to tell his wife that her butt doesn't look big in the those pants. Hilarious. I think he got that joke from Sinbad's discarded jokes pile. |

| The episode tonight should be good. Jason Alexander, Dan Rather, Martha Raddatz and via satellite Chris Rock and Fmr. Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR) are his guests. |
