The other day, a guy I know was in his office working diligently when the boss came in and announced to the two people in the office that a college kid had asked for a private teacher and asked if anyone was interested.

This person, knowing it isn't strictly legal but appreciating that the boss was willing to spread the wealth around, piped up and volunteered and the boss said he'd arrange a meeting.

Yesterday this person that I know asked about the meeting. The boss said the student only wanted a female teacher.

This guy's hopes were dashed. On the otherhand, he is not sure he wants a private student who is more interested in the gender of the teacher (an irrelevant factor) than in the quality of teaching.

Sounds like the studnts wants to get up close and persoanl with a western woman. Maybe the student doesn't want to learn conversational English but pillow talk instead Laughing .

In all seriousness though, I'd wary of any students who said that especially if he was an adult.

The OP mentioned a college student, with no reference to the gender. If it is a female student, she might not feel comfortable with a one-on-one with a male instructor, and so requested a female teacher. She, if it is a she, might not want the male teacher to try to teach her pillow talk!

Women have taken just about everything from us men. Our pride, our family jewels, heck, we even lost the glass ceiling in the 80's.

The only thing we have left is the "double standard" and Ill be damned if someone woman tried to take that from me.

We'll stick together till the bitter end. Martha Stewart and Oprah will both condem us with Rosie cheering the crowd. The age of woman is upon us..the rest of the men might as well cut off their **&^ and start wearing dresses.

It's a college freshman (male).

I told my friend that it is no different than all the ads asking specifically for a female, but it is tiresome.

I remember in college that when there were several profs offering the same class, I always asked around for who was the best prof on the list. Gender didn't enter into it.
