Hello. I know that one of the minimum requirements to teach English in most E. Asian countries is to hold a B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) degree . I currently hold a B.S. (Bachelor of Science) degree from an accredited school in the United States. Does that qualify me? |

I will answer this question because Travelous Maximus posts so
rarely and his posts are always so useful. T.M. Please go to the Korean
Job Board and look at the requirements. Then turn off your computer
and try and find some friends. |

I have a B.S (both kinds mentioned by Chuck) and I had no problems getting an E visa when I needed one. |

There are a number of science oriented high schools in Korea. Check out one of them. |

BS Business here too. No problem. Altough, you might have some trouble getting BA grads taking you seriously. |

But doesn't a B.A stand for a Bugger All degree? |

Basic Adaptability? As a BA holder, I liken it to a filter. A BA is an expensive, rather poorly designed filter that keeps the brain stems out. Many slide through, of course. But instead of testing everyone yourself (meaning you, the employer or you the immigration official), you make them go to university for 3 or 4 or more years (party!), demonstrate something or another about something or another (I remember two things from my university education, one of which is you can mix vodka and jello), and then award them two letters so insignificant no one (other than car salesmen) puts it on their business card after their names. |
