Can anybody recommend a company for shipping stuff home (a couple of boxes), other than through the post office or FedEx? The latter looks damned expensive...is Korea Post your best bet?

If time isn't a concern, shipping by boat with the post office is best. While it may not be cheaper than post office airmail or FedEx, UPS operates here.

I would just go with the post office. You can definitely ensure things, and it can get there as fast as you want it to, depending on how much you're willing to pay. I've sent things home express and had them get there within five days. Shipping will depend on weight, I'm thinking with standard shipping you'd pay around $75, not including whatever insurance costs.

I wouldn't bother with UPS, it's more expensive both to and from Korea.

I sent 7 20kg boxes to Canada by post. Cost me about 400,000 won. Everthing got there within 5 weeks, only one box was broken and nothign was missing from it. I sent computers, printers, bboks clothing and etc.

The PO in Canada was sure glad to have me come and pick it up.

WHOA- have you sent stuff to Mexico before? I've sent stuff to the Baja peninsula, from the States, and it arrives two months later in horrible condition. I've heard VERY bad stories about the post in Mexico. Don't send a laptop!

As for boxes sent home- I just sent a 16lb box home on the 20th of April. It cost 60,000. I thought I specifically said not express, but apparently that still meant airmail, because it arrived in the States yesterday.

Uou have yo specifically tell them "by ship" and make sure you have the right box. Some boxes are express and some aren't.

Sending to most countries is a risk, but Korea, Canada, US and probably European countries shoul be Ok.
