Hong Man Choi is arguably the strongest fighter in K1, and he does have some skills. With better training and more experience he could become the best. That was definitely his worst fight, and he'd better learn from his mistakes. I think that he actually matches up better against taller opponents - it's more difficult to hit much shorter guys with power shots.

Contrary to what's been posted here, he has beaten some of the very best K1 fighters, including Sammy Schilt. I think he was robbed in his decision loss to Le Banner in Japan - he should have gotten the decision in regulation time, and he definitely scored more in the extra round. He also beat a tough Thai fighter, Kaoklai Kaennorsi, who had KO'd Mighty Mo in one round. And he fought a smart fight in defeating powerful (but crude) Bob Sapp.

(Sapp versus Mighty Mo would be an interesting match-up ...)

I was happy to see him get knocked out just for his dumb @ss, sideways hat wearing, poor rapping, bee-bopping entrance to the ring. Ankle seemed to be fine as he was dancing up the aisle. Seems like the ankle "injury" may have been a pre-emptive excuse for a fight they weren't too sure hed win.

Agreed!

The decisions that went to Choi against Schilt and Kaennorsing were both poor, especially the latter. Kaennorsing fought a much better fight and it seemed like he landed more shots. I thought it was great how he kept trying to jump up and kick Choi in the head, but by the time his foot got up there Choi would have his hand up...

Mo did get dropped hard by the small man from Thailand... Ouch!

That's sad when you consider the fact that he's basically a one trick poney (long arms that keep his opponent away from his glass jaw and a knee that only need to travel six inches to connect with the other guy's chin when he comes in close).

I don't think he has a glass jaw - that was a big punch by a 280 pound guy ...

Anyway, the big rumor (according to a fairly reliable source...) is that K1 is looking to book Hong Man against - believe it or not - former WWE superstar, Brock Lesnar! It's tentatively set to take place in Las Vegas this May ...

Gotta admit, his one trick is a hell of a trick. Guy moves ok for a man of his size, if he learned to use that body of his to more than make crappy commercials he could be fairly domminant. Then again he wasn't smart enough to dodge the flying jump punch.

Anyone else remind of Little Mac from Mike Tyson's Punch Out there?mighty moe had a star punch and just knocked his out when he was stunned is all.

I so disagree. He has no legs (though when he connects with his knee it's powerful).

While he doesn't huff and puff like Bob Sapp, I seen some fights when he had no wind, either.

I do agree that if he learned how to use his body better (and started to do some road work), he might really win some of the decisions that have been handed to him.
