|

Long story short, I was originally on an E2 visa, talked with my boss to let me study Korean full time instead, while still on my visa, to save the hassle of me needing to go to Japan for a student visa. Well, my time on my visa is coming to an end, but I had a question before I buy my plane ticket to Japan.
Right now, I have a small vacation in my Korean classes coming up in April. My visa expires on the 30th of March, but my ARC ends on April 6th. There was a slight delay in getting my ARC as I applied for my visa in country. Anyway, my question is if there is a grace period on when a visa ends. I remember hearing something about ten days, but I can't recall. |

My answer is short; Your ARC date takes precedence over your visa date.
and it is 14 days with an exit order. |

| So I'll be safe sitting around with an expired visa for a little less than a week? I'm just concerned that they may question me upon leaving the country. |

| All you have to do is go to the immigration office and fill out a form for a 30 day extension on your ARC card and that will take you to May something. It's free. I did this, no trouble whatsoever. Oh and you don't have a 14 day grace period. That's bogus. Talk to immigration and don't trust everything you read on these boards. Check it out for yourself. |

That's not what I'm asking. I'm asking if my visa expires on March 30th and my ARC expires on April 6th, am I safe sitting around until April 5th to leave for Japan? I have a two day vacation on the 5th and 6th. |

You have to leave on or before the day your ARC expires. So you should be okay. |
