Thought it might be worthwhile posting this from my recent experience to Thailand and Hong Kong. After coming back i got sick & spent alot of time and money in 2 hospitals oriental and western having lots of tests and eventually found out I had Hepatitis A. The good news is I can't get it again but I could have avoided this if I'd had the vaccine. I think you can get A/B combination now. And I met a young woman who had malaria from being in India for a week. So my advice would be to check what health precautions you need to take when travelling to certain areas.
It's not nice being sick in another country.
Happy travelling!

Sorry to hear you got sick.
I did the course of Twinrix (Hep A and B) injections before I first came to Korea. It was 3 injections at about 3 months apart (from memory), and they were expensive, NZ$80 each time. It turns out they weren't even effective, my last blood test for a public school job showed that I was negative, I hadn't developed any immunity at all. The Doctor said that some people (a small percentage) don't 'take' to the immunisations, for whatever reason.
Anyway, that's just my experience, I still think it's better to be safe than sorry, and it's wise to get whichever vaccinations are recommended for travelling to certain areas.
