If you are really worried about it then just tell them that you imported several hundred and there is a minor defect which you have come to discuss with the Korean manufacturers.
Behave in an irritated many as if to blame Korean quality control.

Not only are they not illegal, but they're sold quite openly in home shopping catalogues in the electronics sections! Shocked

Not used to having dildos and vibrators alongside all the computer games and children's toys in catalogues back home, it took me a while to figure out what they were. Very Happy

Vibrators may be sold openly in Korea but it takes an unusual kind of Korean girl, or boy for that matter, to go in a buy one. Most would be sold online. However, if you bring one in for your girlfriend, a well made one which uses bigger batteries, then she will be very, very, very, grateful.

Why would she be grateful or need a vibrator when she's got you?

This has to go down as one of the strangest threads.

But seriously, I happened to spot a sex store in Incheon when my wife and I were taking the bus back home a few months ago. She's never been to one, so we were going to go visit it and see what they sell. I'm curious is the type of stuff they sell here is the same as back home and what types of things they sell in sex stories in general here.

If I ever get a chance to swing by there (no pun intended) I'll post something about it.

So while we're on the topic, what's the best sex shop you know of in Korea? As a former purveyor of fine sexual goods, I've got a professional interest in sex shops.

And as for the OP, I brought in a vibrator, but it was in my checked luggage, not my carry-on. Sadly, it died almost as soon as I got here. Maybe the journey was too much for it. Crying or Very sad

Uh, one day in my apt building we had brochures, with prices, for sex toys, taped to the doors, just like pizza and other food ads. I took it to work, just to show it around. One of the Korean co-teachers asked me if I was going to order anything, and after I said "NO", she took it from my hand and stuffed it into her purse.

I said PURSE. Wink

Indeed. I would venture to say that prior to the insidious spread of internet porn in the mid-/late '90s, the average Korean was essentially clueless about such things and certainly had never owned or even seen one up close. Strange and "foreign", the were as rare as handguns & hard drugs. The fact that foreigners today, in 2007, still talk like smugglers re: bringing them in, the fact that the Korean government until recently viewed them as harmful to the nation's youth (see MM2's post), and finally the fact that we're all assuming Korean customs inspectors are THAT gullible ("oh, that's a back massager") all indicate that the OP's questions & concerns are not as irrational as some might imagine.

I hope you've duly reported her to your principal, students, parents and the local police. No, it's not a crime now. Technically. Apparently. I suppose. Maybe. But society must still be kept informed about sex perverts and their whereabouts. Cool

Tons of these for sale out in the open at the used electronics market along Chonggyechon next to Dongdaemun. It's East of Dongdaemun along the river.

Anyone who calls this country conservative about such things simply doesn't know where to look.

Yeah Smile And for extra price maybe one can buy used, uncleaned and vacum packed vibrator to preserve the aroma of the previous owner. Like used panties you can buy that high-school girls wore (supposedly).
