Is it illegal to buy or carry pepperspray in South Korea? Does anyone on here feel the need to carry self-defense items, whether you're in a urban or rural spot? |

You used to be able to get it in Itaewon at the mart across from the Goldsfish bar, but I haven't seen it for sale there for a year or two. Not sure if it's illegal. I bet you can get it somewhere. |

I gues you could always make your own if you really need it that bad? I have never felt the need to carry it in Korea.. Then again I live out in the country too... |

Walk around Dongdaemoon and try some of the sketchier markets. |

Just buy one of the so called "sports newspapers". You'll find advertisements for it and tasers in those. |

Which sport newspaper are you refering to? Did you say "tasers"? That would be excellent. Do tell . . . . |

Don't they use pepperspray in cooking preparation here?
I wouldn't be surprised! |

Man, I've felt like I had created my own "pepper spray" during a trip to the hwajanshil after eating really hot Kimchi! |

But you do not need that in Korea. Nothing ever happens. |

Well they can put out. What happens in Korea, stays in Korea - like Las Vegas. |

You can find recipes on the internet...probably just as good as whatever you'd need. It certainly looked freaky and undesirable. |

Just pick one at random. You can also purchase air rifles if you want to snipe taxi drivers and motorcycle gangs. |
