|
|
Every time someone mentions clove cigarettes, and where exactly one can BUY them in Seoul, the thread usually disintegrates into batches of insults, vague statements like "I think you can buy them somewhere in this three-square-mile area" with no real followup, and other similar things. I've used the search tool, and while it is essentially useless, I did find a few posts that generally fell into the above categories.
That said, I'm a bit of a brand loyalist, and smoke Djarum Blacks. I just ran out of those that I brought with me, and want more.
So, does anyone know where I can find clove cigarettes in Seoul (especially around Jamsil, COEX, or in the Olympic park area, although I'll travel further if I have to). I'm specifically looking for Djarum blacks, but would be willing to settle on other brands as a stopgap while I locate Blacks on websites that don't demand Western Union or that don't return server errors, or somewhere in town.
Thanks in advance, assuming this thread doesn't fall victim to the same shenanigans others have. |

| Go to Ansan Station. They're the same price as local cigs. |

| Is it just me, or isn't Ansan station one of the furthest out? Are you just being a jerk and sending the guy on a wild goose chase? |

yeah they have Djarum if that's your flavour. Ansan is far out but it has a huge SouthEast Asian community that is located around the Ansan station area. There are some SouthEast Asian supermarkets there that carry them and they're inexpensive.
However, if you can buy Gudang Garam, they are much superior to Djarum. I always thought Djarum was like Fosters or Moosehead.
And, finally, I wouldn't send someone out far for nothing. I may play an ass on the internet at times but I'm genuinely pretty...well...genuine. |

| So should I look in the station itself, or just wander around in concentric and ever-growing circles until I stumble across a palce that sells them? |

Hey! I just went to Ansan to get some Djarums! Well worth the journey, as they only cost a mere 2,500!! And there are multiple flavours and many varieties. Just go to "Ansan station" and get out... it looks very rundown and there's not much around, except a tiny mall. There is an adjuma in one of the stores that sells a great selection of foreign cigarettes. You can also stop and get some nice food there too. Ansan's ugly, but it seems to have lots of cool stuff!
I made a similar post to yours (hijacked another's thread, heheh)...

No he is just trying to help. Ansan is pretty much ground zero for anything Indonesian in the NW of the ROK. If you think its far out for you Seoul-based kids, pity the missus and I having to drive or bus it there from Cheongju. |

It just sounded a little bit fishy, that's all. People giving the OP crap about his thread before, etc. |
