I have directions to the office near Omokyo and the website says Seongnam residents should go to the Seoul Immigration Office. Is that the right one? |

Yes, you have to go out to Omogyo. I went last Wednesday to Suwon and they refused to help me. The best thing to do is either get there right when it opens at 9:00 or make an appointment on their website. I believe it's www.immigration.co.kr I went last Friday and probably would've waited about 2 hours if I hadn't made a reservation. After waiting a short time, I was done with everything in just 20 minutes |

One and the same.
Omokyo is the MAIN immigration office in Seoul.
side note here: immigration officials come to Seongnam city hall one a month for your convenience. (2nd Thursday maybe?? - but I am NOT sure of the day and I am too busy to check). |

It's every second thursday and you can get everything done there that you would at Omokyo, but you don't have to wait. Last time I went there it took 5 minutes.. How good is that... |

I can state for a fact that Bundang-gu, Seohyun-dong is under the jurisdiction of the Seoul Main branch (Omokyo station).
It is possible that places south of here are under the jurisdiction of the Suwon office.
My place of employment is under the Suwon office but foreigners register based on your place of residence not your place of employment. |

As I said, I went to Suwon 2 weeks ago and they refused to help me since I live in Seongnam. The only way that they would help me was if I changed my home address to Suwon, Yong-in, or somewhere else (can't remember). They didn't care that I am working in Yongin, they only cared about where I lived. I advise NOT going to Suwon, unless you want to take the chance of them not assisting you. |

Changes have been made fairly recently where some of the adminitrative regions have been allocated to different immigration offices. Those who live in Hanam city for example used to have to go to Suwon but since the changes they have to go to Mokdong. The allocation of the administrative regions has been rather foolish too. For example, those living in Gangdong-gu must go to Mokdong despite the office in Jongro being much closer. If you live south of the river you must go to Mokdong. If you live north of the river you must go to Jongro. |

Thanks to everyone. My husband went to the Omokyo Office and they extended his visa. He went to extend his F-3 visa, but they refused to do it without me present, although he had all my documents. (Just in case anyone else is searching for F-3 info). |
