We have a couple of GREAT shabu shabu restaurants around these here parts. The best ones let you choose what you want- buffet style. |

My director took me out to a shabu shabu place my first night here.
It was absolutely excellent. |

Nice. The good places are really good. The bad places...I haven't been to a bad place yet! |

Shabu-shabu is good. Always stay hungry after eating it though. |

Asian fondue. The Chinese call it hot pot. I dig communal dining: hot pot/fondue/ethiopian food/pizza. |

I wasn't impressed with it, mainly because the stuff we had wasn't marinaded and I love marinaded meat. There's something about the taste of marinade that I really enjoy. I know, Shabu Shabu is healthy...I know. But I'd take the marinaded stuff over the non-marinaded any day. |

Love it!
There is a place near the uni that used to sell it for 2000 won a serving. That's the water+veggies, plus the mean plus the noodles. It was awesome. He doubled the price and we still eat there. |

I love it. However, I was told it was Mongolian in origin. |
