This type of hateful language is certainly not what I would expect from someone associated with the Liberal Party Of Canada. However, it does shed some light on freethought's usage of the racist slur "Japs" in another thread. |
I think I've used the word anal a few times now... it applies to this post, too.
As for the comment, my three closest friends in this country are gay. What did I do on Saturday night, I spent it in gay bars with them. Doc Oc and I get a long pretty well and I'm fairly certain he thinks and realizes it's a joke.
And, for the record, the racist slur isn't 'japs' it's nips. Before you start accusing someone of using a racist slur, at least get it right. I have japanese friends that refer to themselves as 'japs' all the time. It may have carried with it a racial connotation circa 1941-45, but since then it's become an acceptable expression.
For future reference: Nips, Chinks and gooks. Those are the ones that you should be looking for. And if I've used any of them on this board I sincerely apologize. |

And the word "Japs" is indeed considered derogatory, Mr. P.C., although not as egregious as "Nips." But then wannago's point is well taken, insofar as it might not be blatantly racist.
What you do with gays and whether you are, no pun intended, butt buddies with Octavius is your business but when you say something like any of us you don't get a free pass just because you're liberal. Of course, I realize most liberals believe they're exempt from backlash because, after all, their "hearts are in the right place," yadda yadda.
Really, I think you need to use the meds in your own clinic there. Suppress some of those knee-jerk reactions to posts.
As for your continued fascination with my educational background, as I said only days ago, I'll leave it to you to scout my posts for that prized information. Or, you could just forget it and get a life.
An aside: Octavius:
You might be shocked at this but whether you're gay is immaterial to me although in saying so I don't mean to dismiss or ignore a crucial part of your identity. Suffice it to say for whatever it's worth that I am not homophobic despite my occasional jabs at you but I am opposed to most militant forms of gay rights including challenges to the sanctity of marriage. Hardnosed conservatives believe one's sexuality is a matter of choice, not genetics. I happen to disagree, another reason why I would label myself a moderate with conservative leanings. |

You are only filled with vile bigotry. You hide it at times like your chum BJWD but at the end of the day it is about hate of whatever group == all in aid of your own pitifully small sense of self worth (please read Lacan for a full description).
Octavius doesn't need any sort of apology from your ilk -- the only thing a proper person could do would be for you to apologize to yourself.....
