So I work in a special program for a fairly well known hagwon chain. It's different in that I teach high school grads who will go study abroad, while the school is usually a kiddy hagwon. Now, the company that had this arrangement with this hagwon is breaking off and i'm being offered a job as they split. I have two choices: stick with the hagwon or move on.

My current position with company that will break off:

2.2 million won
Teaching 8;45-2:00, prep 2:00-3:50
No kids, but same students everyday for 7 weeks or longer (burnout!)

If I stay with the hagwon, my pay will be the same, but:
Teaching 4:00-10:00, prep 2-4, possibility of 20,000 crap intensive overtime.
KIDS

Now, let's say I transfer...NEW CONTRACT. The university they will ultimately go to is in California (CSU, the lower tier public school). I'm from the higher tier public school (UC). Which means, the kids recognize my school and even want to transfer to it, and hey, I'm from where they're going. Plus, after two months, I've had good reviews, especially from this one ajumma who knows the director's wife.

What should I try to negotiate for with the new contract? Honestly, I've already thought of getting a new job with a high paying hagwon like CDI (30,000 won an hour is mighty tempting..) or some test prep...How much higher than 2.2 can I go?

Also, I'd be moving from Yeungdeung-po to Gyodae.

all depends on of you can get a LOR from your original place of employment.... if you do decide to change places.. or you can work something out between the two... but if the split from each other i don't see them cooperating very much...

Getting a release letter should not be an issue if I give 30 days notice.
