Just wondering what people think of this: I am teaching in Daegu, Korea. This is actually the second school I am teaching at in the seven months I've been here. (Don't ask, hehe). The current school I am working at, actually has two locations--one close to downtown and another in north end of city. I am in the north end right now. It seems the owner of the two schools (same school name) who is also the director of the other school wants me to come to that school at the end of April. Which means, I will also be moving to the available housing there. Basically, that school needs to replace a teacher, and the one they are hiring is Chinese or some mix, and the parents in that area of school are pickier with teachers. In other words, I am Caucasion (read: White) and I have to go to that school. The new teacher will be taking my spot where I am now. i am somewhat settled at my current school and I am a bit attached to some kids here too. This actually sucks, although I will be closer to downtown finally again and also on the subway line. But what to people think of all this? (Sorry this is so long.) |

Just make sure your director gets it approved by immigration and added to the back of your ARC, otherwise you'll be teaching illegally and could get in a lot of sh!t. |

Check your contract and hold them to it if you aren't happy. Does it say they can require you to teach at another location? If yes, as bigbuds said, get it approved by immi. If not, and if you you are unhappy, hold up the contract and say no.
How does this affect your commute and place of residence? |
