I think all schools in Gyeonggi-do have the same lesson plans and the same text books.

I was wondering if the other Gyeonggi-do Elementary teachers wouldn't mind sharing tips, ideas, and methods with each other. We are all using the same books/lessons. If something like this already exists then I'd love to get some information about it.

Things that would be great to share are: alternative activities to the ones in the book, different exercises, teaching methods, etc... For example, someone can say "Grade 6 lesson 1-3 instead of the fashion show Role play, I had my kids do ......"

I'm not in Gyongi-do, but we are using the same books.

This is for level 6, lesson 1 - 2. This isn't that different than the way the book seemed to describe it, except for the formation of teams.

I haven't done the fashion show yet.

This is for the activity with the country flag cards and the floor cards we played a game that went something like this:

Divide the class into groups. Each person takes 1 flag card, but doesn't show anyone.

Demonstrate how to play with the co-teacher.

Round 1

I ask, "Where are you from?" She has to answer according to whichever card she is holding. If her card matches mine, my team gets a point.

Teams take turns asking, but only one person at a time or it will get too noisy and lead to chaos.

Let them go 4 or 5 rounds with different people from each team taking turns. They have to ask people from other teams.

Round 2

The students each take a floor card and proceed in the same manner.
This time they ask, "Where's your classroom?"

The team with the most points at the end is the winner.

My co-teacher just showed me a site that has some sample lessons, some just audio but some video.

I hope this helps.

My Korean co-teach is using some kind of super-secret korean teachers' website to get extra materials and cool ideas.

She got a really cool boardgame there. Any ideas what the site is??

I'm teaching GEPIK elementary and my co-teacger has some secretive website too, but she'll willing to let me use her pass. I'll post the site once I get to use it, but beware, she said that she has to pay for it (or maybe the school pays for it). The info is similar to the CD that comes with the books.

My coteacher has access to the website too. Although, she told me that the content on the CD is better than the website.

I'm thinking anything could be better than wahts on the CD.
