Anyone know where I can buy 'Bluetac'. My school hasn't heard of it and I need some for posting visuals in class.
It might be called something else in Korea. Bluetac is a 3m product - a sticky blue gum used for posting papers etc to walls - easily removable and leaves not mark on the wall.
Appreciate your help |

Bluetacks are not available in Korea.
The ONLY time I found them was at a special promotion at Kyobo Bookstore in Seoul but that was the only time.. I got 2 packs then and when I went back to get some more for friends, they had all gone and the people there said they weren't going to be stocking more cos they had a lot of difficulties selling them.
Now I just either get my mum to send me some when she sends me other stuff, like TEA, or I bring them back with me when I go home.
Incidentally - I didn't think bluetack was made by 3m so I looked it up and it's actually made by bostik. I would think that if it was a 3m product, it would be available, since 3m products are really popular in Korea..

OK...
I did a quick search on google.co.kr and found that they do sell blu-tacks online but it is EXPENSIVE... like Oh wow, so expensive kind of expensive.
One pack costs 6,500 won PLUS 3,000 won postage, making it a total of 9,500, which means almost a fiver for a pack of blu-tack.
I like blu-tacks, but I don't think they are worth a fiver a pack.. |

I saw some once at a stationery store at Incheon Airport (it was white, though, but the same thing). It was a little pricey, but not as much as what tzechuk found online. I bought some for my then gf (Korean), and she loved it. Her co-workers were all over it, too, everybody wanted some. It's such a great product, it's really strange that it's unavailable here.
At any rate, that store has since closed down. I don't even know the name of it, I just remember that it was really - REALLY - out-of-the-way. |

A Korean friend told me she'd seen it (or the Korean equivalent) on a home shopping channel. Don't know which though sorry. |

I just bought some from the Alfa store at Namdaemun Markets. Its called UHU tac. Its up on about the 3rd floor I think, the floor above where they sell the cardboard. It is made in Germany & costs no more than 3000 won. |

I have brought good ole Kiwi blutack with me both times I've been here.
I haven't met a Korean who knew what it was yet, nor have I seen it for sale anywhere.
"Teacher......is it gum?"
Yes Jenny its gum...here try some.....mwahhh |

Hehe, I did the same, brought it with me from NZ. Two little shites in one of my classes nicked some while I wasn't looking, and stuffed it into their mouths and began chewing....funny, after that they never took anything else without asking first. |

Dang I seem to answer this question a lot.
Anyway, I found some a while back in Itaewon:
Go down the street where Gecko's is. A bit past Gecko's (I think you will need to cross the little side street) you will find a wee stationery (and it's stationary to boot!). They had quite a bit way back when. It was hangin on the wall near the entrance. It's kind of a hole in the wall place so I can't promise that they still carry it, or that the store is still there, as I haven't been there in quite a while.
Good luck.
And if anyone goes there, please post here whether it's still there or not.
That would be helpful. |

Well, I just found that I don't need bluetac anyway. My co-teacher gave me these neat little magnets that stick visuals to black and white boards.
Thanks for the tips - anyway. Cheers. |

Blu-tack is also available through Gmarket, if you know how to order online in Korean. |
