Am thinking I'd like to spice up our role plays by utilising a video camera.
Anyone have any recomendations?
I know there are ones that burn straight to DVD, I hear they aren't much good.
I have experience with Mini DV and like the quality, till the tapes get dirty. Plus, am not sure they are very convenient when it comes to editing.
Whats the word on those flash memory type cameras?
Anyone got one? Are they any good? What would you use?

I just bought a digital camcorder (Sanyo) for $400. included tripod, 2 gig SD memory. The digital camera is 6 megapixels and has a great lense. I have used it and it works great!
2 year warranty. At yongsan. |

| You could get one of the HDTV camcorders from Sony. The Apple store, of all places, in COEX has the best price I've seen anywhere on one of them. $850 or so. |

Really? Looks terrible to me, and the review you posted was even worse. Even the reviewers think it's a crap camera.
I wouldn't mind a run-down though from someone that's into video on "what's out there." What are the best mid-range 400-700 USD cameras out there?
What's the recording time on the 2GB cams? |

This Sanyo camera isn't a XACTI by any chance is it?
Its a good all in one digital/video camera but isn't strong on video IMO. |

That review does make it sound like it has poor image quality. I must have missed that. Infact, I think I did not even read the review I posted.
Average price though, as it turns out - $400
Still think the future is in this direction - with bigger HD cards (but who knows if they will work in your old SD slots..) that cut out the middle-men of HDD or DV tapes.
I suppose it is a matter of time untill there is something interesting on the market. Will check out those Sanyo things, meanwhile.
There are some other, more worthy, SD camcorders out there, aren't there? Progress, and all that? |
