Can I just walk into a pharmacy and get some antibiotics? I think I have strep throat. I don't have enough time to search for a hospital or doctor's office right now, unless someone can give me some tips about health clinics in Daechi that are fast and efficient. I appreciate it. My throat is going to explode!

Pop into any doctor (green cross) and point to your throat. They will take a quick peek and if you have strep they will give you a script for 3 days and tell you to return. You won't need English for this.

If you have insurance it will cost 3000 won for the Dr. and about 2000 for the antibiotics.

You cannot get antibiotics over the counter (at least not legally). A script (prescription) is required.

Why don't they give enough for five days?

Is it just a money making scheme?

Three days of anti-biotics isn't long enough to clear up strep should be 5 - 7 to make sure it's under control.

Most doctors know at least a bit of English. They tend to write out their doctor's notes in English, just like how our doctors use Latin.

Because the normal routine is to see you after 3 days, make sure the meds/treatment are effective and continue or change.

At 3000 won per visit they are not going to break your bank or get particularly rich.

It all depends on the dosage and kind of antibiotic. You can have single dose 'horse pill' antibiotics, or you can have it more stretched out to varying lengths based on the dosage of the pills.

If you walk past Miz Medi toward Eunma Village and turn right at the major intersection just after Krispy Kreme there's an ear nose and throat guy maybe 100 yards down. It's brick building with a pharmacy on the main floor. The ENT is upstairs. The doc speaks some English.
