got this little gem in my inbox a couple of days ago, and hella yeah i'm there. on saturday, there will be a contigent of dave's people coming down to cheongdo from the big city to watch the cowpokes in action.

You might not think of Korea as a bullfighting nation, but in fact it is, and the Cheongdo Bullfighting Festival is the nation's largest festival dedicated to the sport. Cheongdo-gun and the Cheongodo Bullfighting Association are working together to offer various events, such as inviting Japanese fighting bulls, good-will bullfights between Korea and Japan and a rodeo show by U.S. troops stationed in Korea.

It is not all about strength and aggression - these carefully trained bulls are awarded points, in much the same way as martial arts, for such recognised moves as pushing, head attack, neck attack, side pushing, drawing horns, horns bumping, head pressing and the horns bumping and head attack combination. To the uninitiated the fight may be hard to follow, but after a while it will be impossible not to marvel at the dexterity and tactical awareness of these magnificent warriors. "
