Hey guys!
So... I am about to move from Canada to South Korea... I can't wait!
There is one issue here... and please don't laugh...

I have been playing World of Warcraft since the day of release! I know that you have to call blizzard and tell them that you are moving or else your account can get suspended or banned...

So this is the reason why I am posting:
Firstly, I am bringing my laptop with me. How hard is it to get highspeed in your apartment?
Secondly, South Korea is the most wired country in the world. I hear that they have actual places where you can go and play video games. How safe is this? (ie. Keyloggers/Hackers and all that jazz)

My friends are laughing at me cause I am a geek and will still play WoW when I am over there... but whatever... I hear that people go on gaming dates! People look at me really funny when I tell them that I play wow.. apparently I don't fit the 'stereotype.' So its definately going to be refreshing when it isn't atypical for girls to play computer games.

There are 24-hour Internet cafes on every block where the Internet costs a buck an hour and you can play WoW. Koreans are very serious about gaming.

Kyle: Wow, look at all these people playing right now.
Cartman: Yeah, it's bullcrap. I'll bet half these of these people are Koreans

Are you kidding me? lol... my advice for you is to look beyond the stereotype. Computer games are not for geeks and losers. 8 Million people play WoW and I can assure you that they are not all like that. I shouldn't have to defend myself but I am going to anyway.
Ie. Myself, not to disclose too much info... 20 something woman, used to be very involved with my sorority before I graduated, not to mention other clubs and stuff in uni, have been to more countries than my age, play more than one sport competitively and have been previously signed with a modelling agency in London in my mid teens.
Not to sound like a b*tch... but get a life? I assure you that my life is more than 'goblins and elves' but ty for trying to get me outta my room. I have no problem doing that myself.

pretty easy to get wireless in seoul. I don't know if I would trust a pc bang. Seems your account is valuable...so I would advise to just stay at home when playing wow.

Please endulge me with your hobbies, since you clearly define what a cool person is by judging others and trolling forums.

Thanks =) Yeah I was just wondering what kinda security they have on the computers. Its clearly more for just WoW. Also has to do with other online banking and all that too. Just wondering if its unusual for a teacher to get highspeed at their apartment.

Agasaya, do yourself a big favor and ignore Jinju. He mocks people who play video games, but then he shoots himself on the foot by getting his jollies talking sh*t to people on the Internet. You tell me which is lamest.

As for your concerns, I don't play WoW so I can't really help you, but I wouldn't recommend playing in the internet cafes here for several reasons. First of all, I'm pretty sure they have a Korean version of the game installed. Second, the places are smoky, loud, uncomfortable, etc. It's easy to get highspeed internet connection in your apartment. In fact, ask your boss to have it set up for you before you even arrive.

One thing I'm curious about is if you can connect to the US servers from over here. I tried to play WoW here when they offered a free trial and it wouldn't let me connect to any servers.

If you have an English copy of the game, you can connect to American and Oceanic servers. Problem is that when you want to play, everyone from back home will be asleep.
