Hi,

To all you Brits out there sending money home, have you noticed how bad the exchange rate is for us these days?!

What's with that - is the Korean Won weakening or the Pound getting stronger?

So, if anyone knows about FX/economics, maybe you could suggest what's best.. I'm thinking of opening a savings account here until the rates are better for sending money home.

Thanks, have a good weekend!

Not sure if these will work, but here is a graph of the GBP exchange rate over time............

http://ichart.finance.yahoo.com/1y?gbpkrw=x

and much worse for the Australians working here, that of the AUD .....

http://ichart.finance.yahoo.com/1y?audkrw=x

The Aussie is surging, making my wage smaller and smaller. This is the strongest the Aussie has been against the USD for 15 years. Now some here will tell you that this means the Australian dollar and the British pound are getting weaker, but I am sure you can read a graph. Wink

<edit> The graphs wont show, but the links still work.,<edit>

mnhnhyouh, I wouldn't go so far as saying the AUD is much worse than the GBP... your graphs show a change of 9% for the GBP and 10% for the AUD.

So do you think it'll continue? Perhaps a better question would be... know any good savings accounts in Korea? Wink

I find it ironic that Bush refusing to do anything about the plummeting worth of the US dollar is allowing me to cash in while teaching here. Sucks for the rest of you guys from economies that aren't spinning down the toilet.
