The girl's name Latisha \l(a)-ti-sha\ is pronounced la-TEE-shah. It is of American origin. A modern variant of the medieval name Letitia (Latin) "happiness". See also Tisha....http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/0/Latisha

Most Korean youth - even many girls - seem familiar with many of the WWE performers. Here are some names of well-known women wrestlers: Lita, Trish, Mickie, Victoria, Torrie, Melina, Stacy ...

She probably got "Rita" either from "Lita" - or from that song that plays on commercials that has the lyric "... her name was Rita..." (I think the next line was "I'd like to meet her ..." or something like that - I can't recall the name of the group (or solo act...) that sings it - very light rock, British accent - sounds somewhat like David Bowie...)

What about those ugly names like Helga, Olga, Hildegarde, and Brunhilda? Also try Brutus...hahaha Laughing Oh, and Lolita and Elvira, and Morticia...

Yes, but most of those names are Teutonic except for Brutus which is Latin. Elvira and Morticia might work. I don't think any North American calls herself any of those names except Elvira or Olga, and they would be Hispanic or Russian in background.

Matilda would be an English name that some people in Britain would use.
It sounds tough.

Hmmm not sure if Matilda is a 'tough' name... reminds me of one of the early female settlers in Australia... so I guess it is a 'strong' name.

How 'bout Oxana? I just saw Borat's movie. It was his wife's name.
