Why is the poll silly? While it might be obvious to rational people that a nuke would be bad, and rational people should all hope that another nuke never goes off, you and I both know that there are some people on this board that wake up every morning and turn to CNN to see if it has happened yet, and are disappointed to find out it hasn't.

Well, just because you will get people objecting to the implications of the question and voting 'yes' just to be contrary - which other people will then take seriously and get upset about. Then the people who voted 'yes' will be all like 'oh man, these flagwavers are so paranoid they think I'm serious, I better keep up the act so as not to disappoint them', and everyone ends up angry with each other and the poll results mean nothing.

This is assuming, of course, that no-one here actually wants the US to get nuked, which was my initial thought. Maybe I give people too much credit and maybe you're right that some do wish unspeakable pain and suffering on millions of civillians, in which case, if you voted 'yes' and you believe it, f*ck you.

Well I'm choosing not to vote because the poll and the question itself is rediculous. Why would you assume people would want to see Americans dead. Because they disagree with your political opinion. This thread is a below the belt slam of America. How about we stop using fear to push an agenda? How about we stop using 9/11 as a means to push an agenda?

Dude, you need to get real.

This is not fear mongering at all. This is a simple question to see the douchebags here that care nothing for the causes they claim to care about but only like to see the U.S. suffer.

I never said that everyone who disagrees with my opinion wants to see Americans dead. i asked people "Would you like to see Americans dead?"

You said you didn't vote. Does that mean you're indifferent? Does that mean you don't care whether a nuke goes off in the U.S.?

I don't see what the big deal is. Why protest against the poll? It's a simple question with two answers. I consider it a litmus test for dumbassity.

The question itself is a loaded one. It would be like your wife asking you "do you think I'm beautiful?" What would you say? That is the sole reason I'm NOT going to vote. In fact, in any poll on Dave's ESL I have the right not to vote, whether it be about a nuclear bomb going off in the US or whether I think Korea is a good place to live.

I just get sick of people on this forum making liberals the scapegoat for everything. Honestly this is the type of thing I expect from Steve McGarrett. If you have a problem with OC, that's perfectly fine by me. I won't get in the middle of your guys tiff. Might I point out that part of the problem with this forum is people make it way too personal.

By the way I am an American and really dislike being told by some that I'm unpatriotic. I also dislike those who call people from Oregon mootbats. We are a nation of 50 states, not red or blue.

Where did I say that liberals are the problem? I simply asked if a person would be happy if the U.S. got nuked. If you are implying that liberals would be happy if the U.S. got nuked, that's your opinion. I don't agree with it, but you're welcome to it.

If ever there was a more pathetic rhetorickal question Rolling Eyes

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhetorical_question

"What's the matter with you?"
"Don't you know any better?"
"Have you no shame?"

"Is the Pope Catholic?" and "Do bears shit in the woods?"

"Are you crazy?"
"Who cares?"
"How should I know?"
"Are you kidding me?"
"Is this guy kiddin'?

"Do you expect me to do it for you?"

"Do pigs fly?"

"What's up?"

Are you on meth? This is a question requiring an answer. Contrary to what you may think, there are people on this board who would like to see the U.S. get nuked.

Do you even know the definition of "rhetorical question?"

Given their cheering 9/11 when it occurred, I find their denying this very, very hard to believe.

Which board users were cheering 9/11 when it happened? I don't recall anyone on the pre-PHP board doing so back in 2001. Or has there been a 'Did you cheer 9/11?' thread more recently?

I do seem to recall, about a year and a half after 9/11, at least one guy showing up here and indulging in pseudo-leftist artistic cliches about the "horrible beauty" of 9-11. Or something to that effect. But I don't think he stuck around for very long.

Also recall one well-known Canadian poster, who used various monikers over the years(hint: think body-building freak), talking about 9/11 in a particularly callous fashion. But I don't know how seriously I'd take anything he said. He used to post racist vitriol against Japanese people, then turn around and say it was okay because he didn't really mean it.
