Koreans love to blame the sex thing on Japan.
I had an art book full of ancient Korean artistic drawings of kings/noblemen well into middle-age having group sex with girls who are likely teenage. The book was a gift from a friend who thought I'd get a laugh out of it. It embarrassed me / bothered me, so I gave it to someone else.
Korean sex-crazed ajoshis have been up to shennanigans for a lot longer than they care to admit. Japan is just a convenient excuse. |

yeah go to Insadong a look at some of the Korean "Erotica" for the Joseun era for sale in the side alleys. Some of the positions and things in the paintings/ceramics etc is downright wierd
will they ban the sale of that too? I think not |

Hey, they DID block porn in the middle east (but they still advertised it on sat-TV...go figure....) and they do it in China.
Anyway, there is a way around it...................it's called using a "proxy site" |

I think he just may not be into ten layers of makeup.
But hey, if the kabuki actor thing floats your boat, you don't need to worry about what he has to say about it. |

Sir, are you suggesting that you do not appreciate the Korean female type?
I doubt that. I further doubt you regard that type as kabuki in any way. Most of'em anyway. |

There are plenty of pretty girls here. Unfortunately, there are plenty more than that with makeup thick enough to block a bullet, and I find that greasy shit gross. So yeah, it's as appealing as a kabuki actor.
To stay on topic: Think of it like a porn chick with giant bazoombas. At first glance you're like "Wow!" but upon further examination you're like "Ewww, that's freakily unnatural and nauseating".
And well, I'm at that age where personality goes a hell of a lot further towards making a lady attractive to me than how well she photographs. A smart, makeup-less woman I can talk to is about 1000 times better than the heavily war-painted Hongdae trophy girls you're all crazy about. |

I agree. Further, I would contend that there are plenty of the good types around in Korea.
The war painted Hongdae girls are, however, well suited for porn. |

| I don't beleve that Korean government officials have the know-how to actually block all porn sites. Unfortunately, they don't always have risque URLs. Not that I would know. |

Ministry cracks down on internet pornographic sites
| Quote: |
Korea will impose an access ban on nearly 180 foreign pornographic internet sites by May, the Information Ministry said yesterday.
The ministry expects the measure will be highly effective in reducing obscene content as it claims that the majority of pornographic content comes from overseas.
The ministry said it has discussed the viability of the measures with prosecutors, police, related government ministries, major portals such as Naver, user-created content providers such as Pandora TV and network operators.
Local portals will be put under more stringent government surveillance and can even be investigated if necessary, the ministry said.
"We will also step up our monitoring efforts with portals," said Suh Byung-jo, director-general at the Information Ministry.
Local portals will have to increase their monitoring staff, particularly on weekends and during the night. More comprehensive monitoring will be implemented on weblogs, internet cafes and user-created content websites.
The ministry will adopt a more technically advanced automatic system to filter obscene internet postings. Pornographic content currently being circulated on the internet will be gathered and categorized in a database.
The ethics committee will also set up a 24-hour center for people to report unlawful or harmful content.
Major internet portals have come under fire recently for a lack of responsibility.
On March 18, two pornographic videos were posted on Yahoo Korea, the nation's second most visited portal and over 20,000 users downloaded the files. Yahoo Korea has faced a barrage of criticism for having left the clips for six hours.
Daum carried a video of half-nude foreign fashion models for seven hours last Tuesday. Naver is also being criticized for not having removed a nude photograph for about four hours.
