Yes, Jon, I find this very interesting, but I really think that the majority of South Koreans will not accept this strange notion. My experiences there have satisfied me that theyre very sensible, rational, folks |
I'm thinking Randi is being sarcastic here |

Yes, I submitted that. I was pretty surprised he posted it. If I'd known I would've written it out a bit better. |

So did I. They're more interested in myths like "Is it true a samurai sword can chop a human in half?" |

I liked the story above Mindmetoo's Fan Death link.
The Japanese martial art Kiai. They put all their focus into creating 'chi' and directing it at the opponents. Anyway, this old-ish Kiai master wagered he could beat any representative of any other martial art. 5000usd. His challenge was taken up with hilarious results!!!

The video of him beating 200 of his students is really funny but actually very sad. Did he really not catch on that his students were faking it? Or was he in on it too? |

Recently five Koreans tried to commit suicide by locking themselves in a hotel room and turning on a fan. |
Is this true? Was it in the newspaper recently enough to search for it? What is 'fan death' in Korean? |

Oh wouldn't it be great to see them come to Korea and interview countless people. They could advertise it, build a hut in central Seoul, and Jamie and Adam could sleep there all day with the fans on with everyone coming by to watch in amazment. I think it would create spin-offs with others coming here to take the piss out of Koreans. |

Didn't realize that was based on a real 'happening'. But what is 'fan death' in Korean? |

Thanks for the link man, funny story.. I love how one of them buckled under the pressure and called out for help lol..
I'm skeptical, though. They were probably just going to have an orgy and one of the guys got scared, the suicide story just being a cover. |

Oh wow. Here I was thinking the happening in your signature was some smart kids ironically mocking fan death, but no.
...하지만 이들 중 겁이 난 한 사람이 112로 가출신고를 했고...
Oh god, I can't stop laughing. |
