We all know it happens in a lot of military units (my friend who was in a special forces unit has some permanent scars) but at university???

Not only violence and corporal punishment but also sexual harressment was revealed as occurring to new students in university physical education departments, amid mounting public outcry against this practice.
The events captured on film occurred in 2006 at a new student retreat of a Incheon colleges department, and the photos were obtained on March 23 by The Hankyoreh.

I think what he's trying to say is that this sort behaviour isn't limited only to Korea. |

I don't think anyone said it was limited to just Korea.

Well, most college retreats aka. MT (memebership training) is with a student club or something to relate them. They are organized by students themselves and it is a good way for freshmen to get to know seniors, make friendship and of course, create couples. Basically, its similar to frat parties and all those activities being done is same like joining a fraternity with stupid things you gotta do. Fellatio with a banana happens at the weddings so I hear from previous posts on this board...so.... |

I certainly can't speak for all Korean colleges and universities but in my experience I've never seen that happen at an MT....We just fried up the sam gyap sal and let the soju flow. The worse was a singing contest with 4 or 5 guys who had to dress up as girls....Noone was forced to do it and it was all in good fun. There was NONE of what I saw in those photos going on.
Fellatio with a banana at a wedding? Uh...what? Is that some sort of Korean variation of taking of the garter belt with your teeth?? |

Yeah, but we are older and responsible adults. I am talking a massive MT where lots of people go...not just a groups of friends. Then you have all this crazy games fueled by soju of course. |

Um...that is what I'm talking about. I went to an MT for a whole English education department...Couldn't tell you how many were there (this was back in '02) but it wasn't just a few friends shooting the shit. And in any event, the article is about college students so what does that have to do with grown adults at a company? |

Hazing is very widespread in Canada and the U.K. Canada is a very, very violent and corrupt nation. Think about it, eh. TWG will tell ya the same, eh. |
