Well, I have never seen the program, but after reading through this thread, I got the whole lot (3 seasons, yes?) last night. I watched just a bit this morning...it looks good.

Thanks for the tip folks.

Yep, 3 seasons is all there is, I believe. Bon voyage! (that means, happy viewing, right?)

I'm midway through season 2 and loving this show. It's addictive. I'll be done season 3 before next week. Annyeong!

One of my favorite scenes:

You have to remember the context. How could anyone think season three wasn't very good when it had this? I think the end of season three was not so hot but I think it's because they knew the end was coming. As I understand it, the show was cancelled not due too lack of popularity, but due to expense (think huge cast with a few pretty big names). I think the writers still had plenty in the tank.

I liked tobias the first time I watched it but the second time I like lucille booth. You need to listen to what she says, its very sly, you come to realize she is the real head of the family....

I'm not sure star salaries had anything to do with the show being cancelled. I'd wager that a lot of those stars weren't making their premium salary to begin with. Even if they were, I'm sure they were willing to make things work. It's quite apparent to me that everyone who was involved with the show thought the WORLD of it and wished that it could have continued.
The cast puts the blame SQUARELY on the head of Fox. And it makes sense really. Watch the video of David Cross's rant that q or gaj put up near the start of this thread.

I'd say the actors have a much stronger case than blaming the "get rich quick cast".

flakfizer...I agree. The way that episode came together was by FAR the most creative thing that television has EVER seen. In fact, I challenge ANYONE to think of any tv show, ANY episode that matches the ingenuity of that one! I loved it!!!

God knows they're squinters!

Maybe it's funny if you don't know about Korean, but I hate it when shows play fast and loose with foreign language.
But they do it in English too. In the episode where buster loses "XXX" (can't give it away) the lifeguard yells "Loose seal. Watch out for Loose seal". It is ingenious what they do with it, but I wouldn't really call that upstanding use of the language.

Who in the show is a big name, besides David Cross? I didn't recognize any of the others.

Look at this video a guy made when AD was cancelled. A little predictable but still funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5_Y6Nn-70E

Yet, Anyong's real name is something approximating "hello". I always wondered about that, what the hell were they trying to say. "Haru"? What?

Yeah I didn't like that part of the show, really. The worst scene of all the episodes is when they walk into the Korean restaurant and the staff all yell out Anyong! Maybe it's funny if you don't know about Korean, but I hate it when shows play fast and loose with foreign language.

Ummm...that was the whole joke.

I loved Scott Baio's cameo, and couldn't stop saying the name "Bob Loblaw" for weeks afterwards. I also came to respect Portia De Rossi a lot more after seeing her work here. The woman is not only stunningly beautiful but woefully underused.

Bob Loblaw LOOL.

I Googled "NoNudes" after watching the show once. I thought it might be a real affliction...but turns out not to be the case:)

Yeah she rocks

The episode where Lyndsay tells her.."I am free this afternoon"
Lucille's response..."Oh, did nothing cancel?"

Priceless

Well, "big" is relative, I guess. But Liza Minelli (sp?) is a pretty big name and so is Ron Howard. Most US viewers would also know Henry Winkler and Jason Bateman. Even some of the small characters were pretty well-known like Ed Beagley Jr. and Louise-Dreyfus. I just remember reading that the production cost per episode was quite high, but after looking up a few articles, it seems that low ratings were the bigger problem.

Well, that's called a pun, and the show is full of them. What bugs me is incorrect usage of foreign language. The whole calling the kid Annyong is fine, but that scene where all the employees shouted Annyong! was over the top. It reminds me of people who get Chinese tatoos that say something silly.

Ahh ok Flaf I was thinking just about the major characters, as in the Bluths. Though Liza Maneli did have so many appearances as to be considered a major character in the show, I think.

JeJuJitsu, I think either you don't understand what I was saying (about the Korean restaurant scene) or I'm not getting the joke. I thought the joke was supposed to be that they had previously thought Annyong was the kid's name and didn't realize it's a greeting in Korea. Was there another joke I missed?

Also, it's nevernude, but yeah I don't think it's been a real social condition ever since the Bathing Machine went out of style.
