is it really worth it to spend the extra won for a 27"? i was originally planning on buying a 24 inch, but since i'm gonna be living here for another 14+ months and like to watch lots of movies, i figure i might as well treat myself to a bigger screen. anyone think the extra expense is worth it?

and is it possible to find a decent flatscreen tube (not LCD/flatpanel) for under 300k?

No. I watch stuff on my laptop or, if I really want to see it big, go to a cinema or a DVD room (you can bring dvds there).

The novelty of a flatscreen big screen wears thin after a few months, but then again maybe that's what you enjoy to do with your spare time. Maybe you could spend the extra money of dolby surround?

How much is the extra few inches?

Why don't you move your coach nearer the tv...that will give the illusion of it being bigger.

The difference is three inches.

And in my opinion, you should buy a used 29" or larger. Save some coin and get something bigger anyway.

Hundreds of big used sets at the used TV electronics market just east of Dongdaemun. Walk East along the Cheonggyechon and you'll start seeing it... the used TV's are an alley or two behind the riverfront on the South side.

Agree -- go with the 29". The cheapest I've found them is about 300k.

An LG store near PNU had one outside for 300k. It might have been used, though. You can get new ones for about 360k. I've heard you can find them cheaper, so I'm going to keep looking around.

A slew of TVs like what you are considering, and the best prices in town, can be found here:

http://www.enuri.com/view/List.jsp?cate=0201

Click the far-left TV link box just below the top. It says "일반TV"

Enuri is a site that compares prices from multiple online stores.
